Women's World Title Fight Sets Up Huge Clash

Ireland’s Katie Taylor had another impressive performance once more today in the UK.

A unanimous points win over Kazakhstan’s Firuza Sharipova.

The win took Taylor’s professional boxing record to 20-0.

Here are the main fight highlights in a scrappy bout but one Taylor got the job done in:

Taylor appears to be an impressive individual. Disciplined always staying busy focusing on her boxing career.

Admirable and little wonder why Taylor has a strong fan base at least in the UK now.

Maybe Taylor has potential for things in America one day but a lot will come down to next year. Taylor has shown some promise for USA boxing fans but still not known enough yet. Need to see more for Americans and Irish Americans to really tune in. This is up to Eddie Hearn to do a better job promoting her frankly in America. Poor so far.

We believe Claressa Shields is still the number one pound for pound fighter out of the all the female boxers at the moment.

Close after tonight though for sure but Shields Olympic Double Gold wins in recent years for her young age incredible.

Can’t take that away from Shields.

The whole thing will come down to Taylor vs Serrano next year and Shields vs Marshall.

After those fights happen maybe women’s boxing will truly have a number one pound for pound then in 2022.

Good point made here by Newark’s Shakur Stevenson:

Correct by Stevenson.

Credit to Taylor however on another stellar performance tonight and her opponent too.

The 35-year-old Irish Taylor only has good things ahead.

The best is yet to come you’d suspect.

Not good things.

Great things ahead.

After the fight Taylor called for a unification fight with Amanda Serrano:
