Muhammad Ali Grandson Pro Debut Gets An Update

Muhammad Ali’s grandson is set for his professional debut very soon next month.

Obviously a lot of attention will come with being the grandson of the great Ali.

That said, no doubt his grandson Nico Ali Walsh will thrive on it. Pressure is an irrelevant, pointless fear-based concept only created by humans. He surely knows this.

No doubt he will be intent on making his own journey and legacy.

His debut will take place on August 14th on the undercard at the Hard Rock Hotel in Tulsa.

It will be a four round bout to start off with.

Opponent to be confirmed.

The headline fight will feature world championship action at super flyweight.

Between Franco and Moloney in their trilogy.

So not a bad card for Nico Ali Walsh to start his pro boxing career on to be fair.

Live on ESPN too should be great for him.

A good team appears to be around him but no doubt he will be forging his own way and writing his own book.

Just like his grandfather did.

One of the great things about Ali was that he was never influenced, in any way controlled or even remotely, subtly told what to do.

By anyone.

He never let nothing in his environment or certainly not no humans influence him. Never. That’s why Ali is the Greatest.

Not least sly people in boxing or any other walk of life with their own agendas. Who thought they could. Wrong. Trust no one other than God. Ali knew this.

One of the great things about Ali was that he always said he talked to God everyday. His faith was a catalyst for his behavior and where he got his strength from. He listened to God first. Then himself. He was a great teacher when he was around. Even a legendary boxing promoter said he taught him about promoting. Don’t you understand man you don’t know everything. Ali was well ahead of his time. Pity more didn’t listen to him. Until he got a bit older. Boxing was lucky to have him.

Good bible verse on this is Proverbs 23:9: ‘Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, for he will despise the good sense of your words.’

On Muhammad Ali, no doubt this from Adidas still serves as inspiration to his grandson ahead of his debut:

“Some people listen to themselves, rather than listen to what others say. These people don’t come along very often. But when they do, they remind us, that once you set out in a path, even the though critics may doubt you, it’s ok to believe that there is no “can’t”, “won’t”, or “impossible”. They remind us that it’s ok to believe. Impossible is nothing!”

Exciting times next month ahead of Walsh’s debut.

We at Boxing News and Views are really looking forward to it. Best of luck to him on his boxing career.

Here he is in action in the amateurs below.
