Andy Ruiz Speaks On How He Got Into Boxing and What Age

Former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz continues his comeback trail since losing his title but without doubt is still a force in the division.

With the new living right mentality with his diet changes, one could expect him to be very strong indeed when the changes settle and bed in fully.

Speaking recently on the Mike Tyson podcast on where it all began he said:

“I had like 120 (amateur fights). I started at 6-years-old. I had my first amateur fight at seven years old and I kept fighting. It was (a dream to go to the Olympics) because there has never been a Mexican heavyweight to go the Olympics from Mexico so I was really close. I lost to a Brazilian guy but I forgot his name, he’s a pro now, he fought Dillian Whyte.”

Ruiz fought Chris Arreola so far this year.

He won by unanimous decision.

His next fight out announcement is expected soon.
