One Thing Stands In The Way Of Boxing Match For Conor McGregor

It has been well noted in various quarters that Irish fight superstar and mixed martial artist Conor McGregor wants to get into boxing in the near future.

He has said he wants to be a world champion in boxing.

No small feat given the fact he has only fought once so far as a professional.

A defeat to former pound for pound head honcho Floyd Mayweather a few years back.

In what proved to be a huge combat sports event worldwide.

Although McGregor lost he gave a good account of himself.

This weekend he takes on, once again, Dustin Poirier, in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).

Many UFC fighters have intimated a willingness to go to boxing in recent times.

If it makes sense no doubt UFC boss Dana White would likely allow it on a case by case basis.

McGregor has to avenge defeat first this weekend however and forget about boxing completely.

Female boxing sensation Claressa Shields had to do the same also recently when she won a mixed martial arts fight.

Two completely different sports.

But as spoken about in 2016 on mixedmartialarts.com here and for another large main stream online media publication here — the two sports are coming closer together now as predicted.

McGregor isn’t finished in boxing just yet.

No doubt about it.

He must stay focused on this weekend first.
