Nonito Donaire Predicts Pacquiao vs Broner

Fellow Filipino boxing great Nonito Donaire will be keeping a close eye on his countryman Manny Pacquaio’s fight against Adrien Broner this weekend with it taking place in his hometown of Las Vegas.

Donaire knows what it takes to become one of the top fighters in the world pound for pound himself and like Pacquiao and Broner, win world titles in different weight divisions.

Last time out Donaire won a stoppage over the talented UK fighter Ryan Burnett in the World Boxing Super Series after Burnett was forced to retire from the fight due to an unfortunate injury.

As for this weekend’s Pacquiao vs Broner showdown at the MGM Grand, Nonito gave his official prediction just a few days out.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Donaire said:

“I think it’s a good fight. It’s a good opportunity for both guys. It will propel their career all over again. I think Manny in this fight is just the big favorite. I think as he has the skills, the power and the speed. As opposed to Broner being very stationary. But of course don’t take anything away from Broner. I think he has great timing but I think Manny will take this fight and dominate.”

He added:

“Manny felt the knockout all over again (Lucas Matthysse) in the last fight and I think he’s going to go for it again. I think it’s possible too with Broner being stationary.”

Not long to go now until we find out.

The fight will be on Showtime pay per view on Saturday in the US and live on ITV 4 in the UK.
