Pound for pound rated best female boxer in the world Katie Taylor returns to action this St. Patrick’s Day it has now been confirmed by her promoter Eddie Hearn.

Speaking a short time ago on social media Hearn announced the following:

Since turning pro Taylor has racked up an impressive run of form as well as collection of world title belts that have led many to not only call her the best pound for pound female fighter — but the best female boxer of all time.

Taylor is also an Olympic Gold medallist at amateur level and is part of a new generation and wave of female boxing talent that includes many big names breaking through at the moment as women’s boxing continues to grow and gain more recognition than perhaps ever before.

Whether or not it will ever get to the place in popularity in the sports landscape that say a UFC champion Ronda Rousey did a few years back remains to be seen.

But that said, Katie Taylor is no Ronda Rousey and is undefeated — building her own name and brand step by step and fight by fight.

The above unification another step in the right direction in that regard.
