Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has made an early move for another world champion in pro boxing and confirmed the news a short time ago on Twitter:
This move now means Katie Taylor, Jono Carroll and TJ are now all with Matchroom and will have their boxing talents shown on significant platforms such as Sky Sports in the UK and on DAZN in the US.
For those not familiar with the situation, there is no (currently) big broadcaster / TV network in the above fighters’ home country of Ireland to show their talents on.
Although boxing is by far Ireland’s best sport in the Olympics, traditionally professional boxing does not get a backing in the country and is largely ignored by TV companies and large platforms.
No doubt many Irish-Americans in the US will now also enjoy seeing the above in action now.
All in all, great news.
