Eddie Hearn Throws Shade At Mayweather Promotions and Leonard Ellerbe Over Gervonta Davis

Hearn Throws Shade At Leonard Ellerbe

Promoter Eddie Hearn has let slip his real feelings about the whole attempt to get Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis to fight on DAZN this year.

A bid that ultimately did not bear any fruit for him just yet.

Davis instead now boxes Abner Mares in the new year and remains a Showtime fighter.

He’s also part of the Premier Boxing Champions stable with his promoter being Mayweather Promotions.

Although Davis had some very public spats with the founder of his promotional company, Floyd Mayweather, CEO of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe appears to be the man involved in the day to day running of the career of ‘Tank’.

All seems good in the relationship once again it would appear.

Hearn had offered Davis reportedly more than he’s ever made to fight on DAZN and to co-promote a fight against his fighter Tevin Farmer alongside Mayweather Promotions.

This approach was shot down straight away according to Hearn who said to Boxing Social:

“You saw the comments of people like Leonard Ellerbe saying we’d never let Tank Davis on DAZN. Why not?

He’d get double the money he’d get on Showtime?

Your’re basically looking out for your interests rather than your fighter’s interests.”

A fight between Farmer and Davis seems like an unlikely prospect for the time being.
