Jessie Vargas could very well see himself in there with the winner or the loser of the fight in the new year so is keeping a close eye on things at the minute.
Vargas has been a respected fighter at welterweight for some time now and has a keen interest on January 19th’s showdown in his hometown of Las Vegas between Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner.
Speaking to AB Boxing News and other press members of the press in a media scrum this week he said:
“It can happen (that Pacquiao uses Broner as a punch bag). Manny Pacquiao still has his speed, he still has all the experience in the world. He’s still a fantastic fighter. He still has a lot left in the tank. I feel like Manny Pacquiao beats Adrien Broner without issue.”
While the above seems to be the popular opinion at the moment to write off Broner completely seems very unwise really.
He’s still the younger man and is a four-weight world champion at the end of the day.
The pair will duke it out at the MGM Grand live on Showtime pay per view come January 19th.
