Billy Joe Saunders Next Fight Confirmed For December 22nd

A lot of speculation had pertained to when we would see the former WBO middleweight champion of the world back in the ring but details have been officially confirmed today.

Saunders returns on December 22nd at the Manchester Arena on the highly anticipated Josh Warrington vs Carl Frampton world title bill.

He’ll take on Zoltan Sera.

Saunders had been due to face Demetrius Andrade in Boston just a couple of months back but complications due to an alleged failed drug test forced the Commission in Boston to not grant him a license.

A lot of debate has existed since but long story short, Andrade now is in the driving seat with the WBO and a rearranged fight between the two for the title should happen next year.

In the meantime today’s news will at least keep Saunders active after another frustrating year.

Just when his career was finally looking like it was getting a bit of momentum again starting last December when he put on a career best performance in Canada to beat David Lemieux.
