Watch: Pacquiao and Broner Meet For The First Time In NY

Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner will formally announce their upcoming January 19th fight later today in NY but footage has emerged of the two’s first brief meeting in the Big Apple at the weekend.

The pair were fulfilling photo shoot and promo commercial obligations for Showtime who will be carrying the fight in the US.

It is expected that the venue will be confirmed today as either the MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas with the widely circulated date being January 19th up to this point.

Pacquiao as he always does year round looked trim when arriving in NY with his wife and a small entourage.

Broner on the other hand appears to be carrying some excess weight but with just under nine weeks to go and the fact Broner isn’t a natural welterweight (147lbs) fighter anyway, getting down to the weight shouldn’t be a problem.

The folks at Fight Hype (hat tip) have summed up the pair’s initial day trip in the Big Apple before their official press tour kicks off later today:

Pacquiao comes into the fight again without former trainer Freddie Roach and will use long time assistant and friend Buboy Fernandez as his head coach once again.
