Former pound for pound number one Andre Ward has really been dropping some bombs of sweet science information lately on social media, absolute gold dust advice in boxing terms to be fair.

His latest coming on Sunday night – perhaps his best yet in terms of advice for any aspiring or even established boxers out there.

A lot of this I’ve never seen anywhere else before, it’s all original and unique stuff from Ward’s own career, experience and life:

I’ll take a top fighter (w/out bad habits outside the ring) OVER a top fighter (w/bad habits outside the ring) EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. You can’t out train your lifestyle. On the other side of 6….it’s going to show up!! #SOG

Boxing is a jealous sport. If you dedicate your life to it and don’t cut corners it will reward you. If you try and cheat the game, it will tell on you and expose you when you least need it. #SOG

BAD HABITS (Outside The Ring For Any Fighter 1-10)

1). Putting drugs or alcohol in your system
2). Gaining 20-30lbs in between fights.
3). Only training when you have a fight coming up.
4). Believing your own HYPE (There is always more work to do).
5). Loving the Night Life…

6). Believing that you can’t be beat (Anybody can get clipped)
7). Having a bunch of ppl around who only gas you up and tell you what you want to hear.
8). Laziness
9). Pride (not allowing yourself to still be taught)
10). Entitlement (nobody owes you anything).

At a certain point in big fights it’s no longer about skill, talent or game planning….it’s about your lifestyles. Yea, from the 7th round on, it has now turned into a LIFESTYLE fight !! What are you doing or not outside the ring ?? That will be on display.
