One man who knows both Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao well having sparred them both in the past is world title challenger Jose Benavidez.
Benavidez came up short in the twelfth round this weekend after succumbing to a TKO – but only to one of the best fighters in the world today.
Terence Crawford.
But Benavidez will come again at age 26 and with just one loss on his record only being to someone of Crawford’s calibre, there’s no shame in it at all.
Speaking to Fight Hub Jose Benavidez said of a possible Khan vs Pacquiao fight next year:
“He’s (Pacquiao) back. Tremendous fighter, he stopped Matthysse easy. He looked great to me, he looked good. He looked fast. But against Amir Khan he’s not going to beat Amir Khan. He’s too fast and he moves a lot. They are both dear friends of mine but I’m going for Amir in that one.”
Pacquiao is thought to be in the process of fighting Adrien Broner next up however.
Followed by Floyd Mayweather according to reports.
