Rocky Fielding landed a real life Rocky story of his own last night when it was confirmed he will take on Canelo Alvarez next up.
The UK super-middleweight faces Alvarez on December 15th at Madison Square Garden in a dream fight that only took around two weeks to put together according to his promoter.
Canelo is considered the biggest star in boxing at the moment and is coming off a big win over Gennady Golovkin that made him the number one middleweight in the world, so a huge coup all round for Fielding and his team.
It appears the move to super-middleweight has been planned all along by Canelo however with the fight against Fielding with early reports suggesting Alvarez plans on staying at 168lbs for a while.
Speaking on how he reacted to being offered the fight, Fielding said:
@JamieMoore777 phoned me said Canelo wants fight you. I said **** off. Ha… let’s do it – no money got mentioned ?? https://t.co/kM9JF9yXqs

As honest as it gets, really.
The fight while being an underdog for Fielding will also be one that will also see Canelo moving up in weight for, so Fielding will certainly go into it believing he can pull it off in his own mind.
