Floyd Mayweather has returned to the boxing gym and is back in training ahead of a planned rematch with Manny Pacquiao at some point in the future after a ‘warm up fight’.
Mayweather said earlier this week that he’ll have a warm up fight in Tokyo before stepping back in there for a Manny Pacquiao part 2.
Many within the trade believe Mayweather is simply trolling but reports this week suggest that large gambling habits could possibly be forcing him to make a comeback to the sport at 40 years of age.
Just one week in, and he’s hardly out of shape:

Thing is though, Mayweather’s legs are pretty much shot in terms of top-level boxing.
You could see that even from the McGregor fight.
Pacquiao looked great last time out against Matthysse and mobility-wise could have an advantage over Mayweather in terms of footwork and speed of foot.
But, Mayweather no matter how old he is, is still incredibly skillful and crafty and probably defensively genius enough to beat most fighters out there.
It’s not going to be what it was before, or could have been years before their first fight, but folks will watch it when it does eventually happen.
