Enzo Calzaghe proved himself arguably as one of the greatest father-son partners in boxing history with his son Joe Calzaghe whom he trained. Barry McGuigan and Shane McGuigan, while father-son duo in a slightly different way in boxing, have paid tribute to the deceased boxing legend.
Enzo Calzaghe passed away earlier this week and the tributes have been coming in all over the boxing world.
Fighters, promoters, managers, fans, media, everyone had respect for one of the sport’s great characters who engineered an unbeatable fight style in his son Joe.
Joe Calazghe retired with an undefeated record of 46-0 and is widely considered as one of the best fighters that Britain ever produced.
Speaking on the passing of Enzo this week, Barry and Shane McGuigan had this to say:
God Bless you Enzo, what a fabulous man you were, outstanding trainer effervescent personality, great musician, above all you were a great human being. My deepest sympathies to @RealJoeCalzaghe and the entire Calzaghe family #gonetosoon https://t.co/lJdNpOSpcW

RIP Enzo Calzaghe. What a man & what a Trainer. Changed the fight with @RealJoeCalzaghe & Kessler with 1 simple instruction. The 3 B’s combo they worked on which Joe wasn’t delivering till then. I always remember the convos I had with Enzo, such a passionate man, rest easy. ?? https://t.co/I1XGTL8q0v
