Amir Khan has chased big fights in the past to no avail but it now appears he’s finally in a position to land one or two of the very biggest fights of his career.
Granted, Khan has been in some very big fights against the likes of Canelo, Maidana and Garcia.
But a few years back he would have loved to have fought Mayweather or Pacquiao.
Now the latter is under serious discussion but he’s not adamant on wasting too much time this time around in the talks.
Speaking to Michelle Phelps of Behind The Gloves, Khan said:
“I’m going to give it a couple of weeks. In the meantime I’m going to meet with (promoter) Eddie Hearn as well and see at the options out there for me. Like I said there are names like Kell Brook out there for me so we’re going to look at those names and take it from there really. But if Manny’s team take a little too long I’m going to keep myself busy. I’m not going to go back to how I wasted a lot of time in my career waiting around for the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.”
Khan and Brook or Khan and Pacquiao seems like the two front-runners at the moment for Amir Khan’s next bout.
Pacquiao has been on the news today himself following his statement that he intends on suing his old promoter.
