WBC heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder has given an update on the expected fight with Tyson Fury before the end of the year.
The fight was announced by the two fighters in the ring over three weeks ago in Belfast after Fury’s latest win over Francesco Pianeta.
However fans wishing to book hotels and flights have been kept waiting on an official announcement regarding date and venue up to this point.
Event organizers and Tyson Fury himself have assured fans that the fight is on and that final arrangements are being made before an imminent announcement.
The WBC heavyweight champion has now given fans an update:
Announcement any day now
Thank you for being patient
This is going to be an absolute amazing fight.#Promise— Deontay Wilder (@BronzeBomber) September 7, 2018
Realistically, expect an announcement next week on fight week of Gennady Golovkin vs Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas.
Or, at the very latest, the week after that during fight week of Anthony Joshua vs Alexander Povetkin.
That will still give people over two and a half months at least to book travel arrangements.
Patience is a virtue as they say.
The great thing about this hold up is however, it just shows how well boxing is doing at the moment with fan’s putting pressure more and more on fighters and promoters to make announcements.
To make the fights they want to see.
