Pound for pound rated star Terence Crawford is one of the many top fighters in boxing looking forward to the Gennady Golovkin vs Canelo Alvarez rematch on September 15th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Crawford has been on a roll himself these past few years in the sport, ripping through the super-lightweight and now the welterweight division like a knife through butter.
Golovkin is up there in the pound for pound rankings with Crawford and the man from Nebraska thinks GGG can win but has to adopt a certain game plan.
Speaking to Jeff Mayweather of The Mayweather Boxing Channel, Crawford said:
“GGG if he goes to the body. If Canelo boxes him and stays off the ropes Canelo may get the decision but GGG if he goes to the body.”
Golovkin certainly has wicked body shots and for the most part head hunted in the first fight, with Canelo able to take his best punches first time round.
However a subtle approach to the body like Crawford points out could be a wise move in terms of trying to break Canelo down.
Not long to go now until September 15th and all shall be revealed, as they say.
