The Deontay Wilder Nandos altercation in Belfast last night with middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders has been reported far and wide but now Saunders has given his side of what happened.
Saunders is often involved in controversial events in the sport but last night has to go down perhaps as one of the strangest and most bizarre.
A chance meeting with heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder at a Nandos restaurant in Belfast resulted in a quick handshake followed by a separated scuffle.
Followed by chicken thrown at Wilder by Saunders and then a swift exit from Saunders and his friends who were pursued by members of team Wilder.
Speaking to IFL TV YouTube (hat tip) Saunders has given his side on what happened today as well as speaking on his upcoming bout against Demetrius Andrade:
Well, there you have it.
All fun and games and a bit of publicity as Saunders clarifies above.
Next week he is expected to be in Boston for the first press conference Stateside of his upcoming fight in October against Demetrius Andrade which will be shown live on the DAZN streaming app in the US.
