A possible rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is reportedly being negotiated for next year it has emerged.
The pair fought back in 2015 in what was the biggest fight in the sport’s history from an American pay per view and revenue point of view.
The bout however didn’t live up to the hype in the end. Pacquiao cited a shoulder injury afterwards.
Demand for a rematch, as you could expect, wasn’t very strong there after.
But boxing has rebuilt itself since then and over three years later, in 2018, is in the healthiest place as a sport that it has been for decades.
Manny Pacquiao is looking for a new promoter at the moment with Mayweather mentioned among the names in the running for the job.
That’s where this rematch talk seems to stem from.
Here’s what some of the boxing world are saying about such a possibility after one report from Las Vegas suggested the fight is being negotiated for next year as we speak:

@FloydMayweather doesn’t need this rematch and in all honesty, personally i’d love a rematch but highly unlikely it’ll happen.I’d welcome a bout for @mannypacquiao to face @amirkingkhan though. #MayPac #Mayweather #Pacquiao #Khan

Why? So we can watch a boring fight? Pacquiao danced around and did the electric slide the whole time. No thanks. ?

I am in talks with my boss to be off of work for the entire month of May next year.
