Floyd Mayweather Tops 2018 Forbes Top 10 Highest Paid Celebrities

Retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather tops 2018 Forbes list for all celebrities worldwide in news that surely can be only seen as positive for the sport of boxing.

Boxing has produced the highest paid sports people on a number of occasions in recent times because of Mayweather.

A master at monetizing his talent, Mayweather will without doubt go down as the best boxing businessman of all times.

This time he’s gone one better (again), he’s topped the overall highest paid celebrities list for 2018, out of all the celebrities in the world.

What’s even more impressive than the below list placement, again, is that in large part when you look at Mayweather’s career he did it his own way, became his own boss and lived the dream.

Take for example him basically ignoring sponsorship deals largely throughout his professional boxing career.

Compare this to current heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua who has massive commercial partnerships with some of the world’s leading brands.

Mayweather never bothered with large commercial sponsors for the most part and made far more money than Joshua has to date.

Instead, he focused on pay per view and perfected a sales pitch that was a first of his generation – make people hate him to the point of wanting to buy a pay per view to see him lose, or if a fan, buy to watch him win.

He was one of the first people to get this.

Last year his bout with Conor McGregor clearly paid off in this regard.

Hhere’s the official 2018 Forbes highest paid celebrities list:
