Fury Set For IBF Heavyweight World Title Eliminator

Fury Set For IBF

Hughie Fury and his father Peter’s patience appears to be paying off after some significant news came through for them today.

Fury challenged for the WBO heavyweight title last year at the Manchester Arena to previous title holder Joseph Parker but lost a close and controversial points decision at the time.

Since then he’s bounced back with a highlight reel knockout of Sam Sexton earlier this year and now he’s positioned himself very close to another tilt at a title.

Kubrat Pulev of Bulgaria was previously expected to face American Jarrell ‘Bib Baby’ Miller in a final eliminator for Anthony Joshua’s IBF world title but talks appear to have collapsed.

Now Hughie Fury has been given the fight with Pulev as the next available opponent in the IBF rankings.

Pulev had won a purse bid earlier this year for the Miller fight.

According to reports talks broke down when the city of Sofia was touted as a potential host for the bout.

Hughie Fury and his trainer and father Peter Fury have once again been rewarded for their hard work and determination in forcing their way into a title shot through the official rankings.

IBF champion Joshua will box again in September against an opponent to be confirmed and again will fight in April of next year.
