Amir Khan is the latest today in the boxing world to pay tribute to David Haye’s career following the former world heavyweight champion retiring from the sport of boxing.
Khan and Haye both rose to prominence and fame in their boxing careers during the same era and although miles apart in weight, shared similarities in their careers in terms of excitement, controversy and achievement.
Khan sent the following message to Haye today after learning of his retirement:
Wishing my good friend @mrdavidhaye a Happy retirement! You have always been there for me. Put your feet up & enjoy life champ, you’ve had an amazing boxing career! ? pic.twitter.com/GPu2V4sTD4

Khan is still active in his career and is currently awaiting his next opponent from his new promoter Eddie Hearn following a comeback win earlier this year in Liverpool.
It is hoped Khan will be back out again before the end of the summer and has been linked with many fights at welterweight so far.
The big one between him Kell Brook looks more realistic for the end of the year at the moment.
