It looks like super-middleweight world champion George Groves has finally gotten the good news he was hoping for over the past couple of months.
Groves suffered an injury in the semi-final of the World Boxing Super Series against Chris Eubank Jr in a fight where he won comfortably on points.
However fears afterwards were that a shoulder injury would see him unable to be fit in time for the final of the tournament later this summer against Callum Smith.
Not the case it would appear however.
The folks at Knuckle Up TV YouTube have released the following short video of Groves appearing to have proven his fitness on the pads with trainer Shane McGuigan – as he unleashes combinations at full speed:
No left overs of that shoulder injury there by the looks of things.
Indeed, he looks razor sharp to be fair.
His opponent Callum Smith will likely represent one of the biggest punchers Groves has fought to date but the Londoner will be banking on his superior experience and possibly a little more polished skills to take him through.
No date or venue has been confirmed yet for their final but if the above is anything to go by regarding Groves needing to prove his fitness, expect news soon.
