Heavyweight contender Hughie Fury stops Sexton in some fashion in perhaps the best win of his professional career tonight to win the British heavyweight title.
The first round was a relatively close one, Fury showing some decent jabs and one right hand to the body – while Sexton applied pressure and had Fury boxing off the back foot.
Hughie Fury began to get the jab going in round two. Boxing comfortably on the outside.
Fury really upped his game in round three, landing some beautiful uppercuts and right hands down the middle at times on Sexton.
Fury opened up on Sexton with a one-two combination in round four and put Sexton down right near the end of the round.
Superb one-two from distance.
Fury continued his assault on Sexton into round five and closed the show in style, as he overwhelmed Sexton and caused the referee to step in and wave off proceedings.
A superb performance from Hughie Fury.
His boxing on the outside coupled with the demonstration of power in the right hand showed he is making genuine improvements once again fight to fight.
It won’t be long before Fury is back in the mix for a shot at the world title.
