Raymundo Beltran has been through as much as any fighter in his career but tonight all the ups and downs finally came full circle.
36 year old Beltran was a unanimous points decision victory tonight over Paulus Moses by scores of 117-111,117-111 and 116-112 to take the WBO lightweight belt which was vacant before the bout.
The title became available after previous holder Terry Flanagan from Manchester recently vacated the belt after moving up in weight.
Early on Beltran started off well, Moses choosing to come right ahead to him which suited Beltran’s style down to the ground.
He proceeded to land some solid right hands on Moses in the early rounds.
Moses came back with his own shots however but Beltran was unfazed. Although he did have a cut over his left eye from some of the punishment he took.
The middle portion of the fight was relatively even as both men exchanged leather in what was a solid fight on the whole.
Beltran who was bloodied and bruised as the fight progressed, made some adjustments down the stretch and finished the bout very strong to take the decision.
Overall a decent fight tonight in Reno.
