It was the first big fight of the year in boxing and on the whole, it was an entertaining battle. A fight where George Groves proved to have a little too much for Chris Eubank Jr in the end.
Credit to Eubank though for fighting tough from start to end.
Particularly in the second half of the fight where in his heart of hearts he surely knew he was behind on the scorecards.
Groves ran out winner in the end via unanimous points decision. Although one of the cards 115-113 in his favour raised a few eyebrows.
Most thought he won by much more.
Rather astonishingly, Eubank Jr after the fight mentioned he thought he won the fight. Somehow.
Here’s how the boxing world has been reacting to the verdict a short time ago:

Chris Eubank Jr. has just stated in his post fight interview that he believes he won the fight and then called out IBF World Super Middleweight champion Caleb Truax who beat Degale in his last fight, even though Eubank Jr. just lost. ? #GrovesEubank pic.twitter.com/yiudx0KYlf
