Sparks flew at the Danny Garcia and Brandon Rios weigh in ahead of tonight’s bout in the US.

Garcia comes into the bout as a warm favourite expected to beat Rios but anyone who’s followed Rios’ career will tell you that he doesn’t go down without a fight.

One of the great brawlers of his generation, yesterday’s weigh-in showed he’s bang up for this fight tonight in Las Vegas.

At one point it looked as though a brawl nearly was about to break out (hat tip Fight Hype YouTube):

It wasn’t clear what was said but to fair to Rios, he looks in arguably the best shape he’s been in for a fight in years.

He’s back with old trainer and good friend Robert Garcia for tonight’s fight too. The combination has clearly resulted in a good training camp.

It would be a sizeable upset if he pulls it off but I’d be expecting him to give a good account of himself tonight whatever way the result goes.

This could have the making of a very, very fun fight indeed.
