Hughie Fury vs Sam Sexton Fight Confirmed

Today it has been formally confirmed that the Hughie Fury vs Sam Sexton fight will take place next up for both men with all details now finalised.

It will mark the first fight back for Hughie Fury since losing a points decision in his first challenge for a world title last year when he dropped a points loss to WBO champion Joseph Parker in Manchester last year.

A close fight that many thought Fury won, he’ll now have his chance to wipe that painful memory out of his mind.

Sam Sexton will be the defending champion in the fight and comes into it in solid form.

He will take on Sam Sexton on May 12th for the British heavyweight title and for the first time in nearly seven years, a British heavyweight title fight will be shown on free to air TV in the UK with Channel 5 confirmed as the broadcaster.

Fury’s previous fight took place on the YouTube platform as a pay per view but by all accounts the experiment while admirably brave, did not work out.

Now Fury will be back on free to air TV in front of a large audience and is also still working with his usual promoter of Mick Hennessy.

Hughie’s cousin Tyson Fury however is still in the market for a new promoter for his return to the ring. It would not be a surprise to see him on this card.

Tyson Fury is expected to announce his next fight and his promotional arrangements in the coming weeks.
