Lawrence Okolie impressed everyone this weekend at the 02 Arena in London with a fine performance that saw him earn the bragging rights over his rival Isaac Chamberlain.
In a battle of two undefeated fighters fans were for the most part satisfied with a decent scrap, that had two knockdowns in it – although did have quite a bit of holding.
Going into the contest both men had exchanged a number of pre-fight verbal jabs and this resulted in a very intense fight in the ring.
It was Okolie’s superior use of his reach however that proved to be the major key for victory on the night.
An obstacle Chamberlain could not deal with largely.
Okolie knocked down Chamberlain twice in total in the fight on route to picking up a unanimous points decision win.
Chamberlain attempted to force his way back into the fight in the second half of the bout but was unable to make any serious inroads.
The bout did have a lot of holding and Okolie was docked a point during the bout for it but it was his right hand, when he did land, that did the damage.
Overall for punches landed and thrown Okolie who also had the two knockdowns in his favor deserved the points win in the end.
