Legendary promoter Frank Warren is the latest figure from the world of boxing that has weighed in on the potential threat to ring card girls no longer been able to work in boxing.
The controversy follows walk-on girls at formula one and darts events getting dropped following significant pressure from feminist groups this week.
Earlier this week UK promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that he will not be removing ring card girls from his boxing shows as they are a tradition in boxing.
Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV, Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren had similar sentiments:
“We’re not dropping them out. We’re not sacking round card girls. How ridiculous. I mean, it’s ridiculous.”
There has been a huge wave of talk this week about the situation but all of the models, walk-on girls and ring card girls on social media have come out fighting their corner, saying that they deserve to right to work.
Of course they do. It’s quite bizarre that their jobs are even under threat – in a world today where everyone is screaming out for jobs.
They are not breaking the law at the end of the day and as Hearn said earlier in the week, their job is a tradition in boxing.
The politically correct world continues to get madder by the day.
