Former undisputed world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has weighed in on the highly controversial subject today following comments from Deontay Wilder.
Indeed Lewis at one time was bitter enemies with the youngest heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson.
Following comments made by current WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder to the effect saying he would have made light work of a young Mike Tyson, in Tyson’s prime, Lennox Lewis has come out in defence of his old rival:
I just heard
@BronzeBomber said he would destroy a young@MikeTyson. My thoughts are that it’s easy to talk until u actually get in the ring. I like Wilder but he’s never been in there with someone who ferocious who truly wants to break his ribs with every punch. I don’t see it!
He added:
I love @BronzeBomber’s confidence… u need that to sit atop the heavyweight division… he’s hungry and shows up in probably best shape in division… but there’s levels to it… and he’s still adding to his arsenal.

As you can see, a huge amount of people on Twitter tend to agree with Lewis, who is spot on in everything he says above really.
Wilder still needs to test himself against the likes of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury and beat the best of his era before he can start comparing himself to fighters like Mike Tyson.
