A cracking fight is now all but confirmed after one of the fighters and the opposing fighter’s promoter said as much on social media.

Ireland’s Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan has gotten his wish of landing another big fight in the US after back to back impressive performances in 2017 that saw him show his trademark toughness and punching power to record two stoppage wins on large US platforms.

Danny Jacobs got back in the win column as well last year after moving to new promoter Eddie Hearn following a close loss earlier in the year to Gennady Golovkin.

Now terms have been agreed on O’Sullivan’s part:

Where and when looks still to be made official but one would suspect that the fight most certainly will take place in the US given Jacobs being an unknown quantity outside hardcore boxing fans in the UK.

The winner more than likely will be in line then for a world title shot later in 2018.

The clash of the two fight styles here should make for a very fun fight as long as it goes, without doubt.
