Joseph Parker is in the beginning of his ten week training camp at the moment and judging by some of his comments recently about Joshua, lacking confidence doesn’t seem to be an issue.
The WBO heavyweight champion of the world has piped up a lot lately, as has his promoter David Higgins in a bid to get underneath the skin of Anthony Joshua.
Initially it seemed like this wasn’t working but now it’s rather apparent that it is. Joshua has even admitted so and has preferred to remain detached from the whole thing at this point.
When Joshua fought Klitschko in April of last year there was a point in the fight that most people thought Klitschko had the beating of the Englishman.
Speaking to Sky Sports Parker said he won’t make that same mistake:
“I know that if I got him into the trouble (Wladimir) Klitschko got him into, I wouldn’t have let him off the pedal. I would put the pedal down and have chased him around.”
Getting him hurt and in trouble will be the challenge however.
The school of thought is Parker will look to take Joshua into deep waters and drown him late on in the fight.
