Amir Khan is due to make a comeback to the sport of boxing on April 21st and one man has now moved well and truly onto his radar in the welterweight division.
Khan has not revealed what opponent he will be taking on next with an announcement expected in the coming week or so.
He shares the same manager as Errol Spence in the form of Al Haymon so if Khan returns to winning ways this year, it’s not unreasonable to assume that a fight between the two could not be made one day.
Following Spence’s win inside the distance at the weekend against Peterson Khan had the following to say about the American:
“Well done to Errol Spence Jr . Great performance tonight against Peterson. He showed good boxing skills & inside fighting.”
Spence could very well be in play to take on the likes of Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman later in the year too, and possibly even Shawn Porter who all four share the same manager in the form of Al Haymon.
Khan for his part has not fought since May of 2015 when he was defeated by knockout by Canelo Alvarez.
Since then he has appeared on a number of publicity appearances that has seen his star continue to grow outside of the sport, despite not fighting in nearly two years.
