Good news seems to be flying around the boxing world since the start of the year in 2018 with the latest solid fight to look forward to at middleweight now confirmed.
WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders will defend his title next up against St.Helen’s Martin Murray on April 14th.
It is understood ticket and venue information will be confirmed on Thursday January 25th.
Also on the undercard will be another world title fight involving Manchester’s WBO lightweight champion of the world Terry “Turbo” Flanagan who defends his strap against Maurice Hooker.
Murray gave his reaction to the news a short time ago:
So it’s official. On April 14th I’ll be fighting @bjsaunders_ for the WBO middleweight world title. Everything I’ve ever done throughout my career has brought me to this point and like always I’ll give it everything I’ve got #ThisIsIt! ?? pic.twitter.com/dddEliBFC1

A very solid fight indeed and another shot at a world middleweight title for Martin Murray, who up to this point has been unsuccessful in a few different attempts at trying to win a world title.
A world title fight on the undercard raps things up nicely here.
A great night of boxing to look forward to – April is going to be a popular month for the sport.
