The final Spence vs Peterson press conference took place a short time ago in New York ahead of Saturday’s world title fight at the Barclays Center.
Trash talk has not been a fixture in the build-up to this weekend. It’s not how these two particular fighters roll.
However when that first bell goes on Saturday night for the IBF welterweight championship, both guys will do their talking with their fists.
Spence comes into the fight as a warm favorite but after following the training footage and build up so far, one thing is clear about Peterson for this, he’s in career best condition and mentally ready.
He knows that this could be one of his last shots at a world title after a frustrating few years in the past – he won’t want to let the opportunity slip.
But he’s up against it though, big time.
Standing across the way from him will be one of the very best American boxers today. One of the very best boxers in the world in fact.
Errol Spence exhibits all the confidence and humility you’d want to see in a talented young world champion at this point.
His win on UK soil last year to win the belt against Kell Brook showed he has the metal that it takes to be a genuine world champion, at the highest level.
