Tyson Fury Makes Bold Prediction On Anthony Joshua Fight

Tyson Fury will return to the ring later this year with a new trainer in his corner and likely a new promoter by the looks of things – and he’s already the big fights straight away.

He has now formally put in an application for his boxing license and should hear back about it by the end of the month.

He’s training hard and losing weight and provided he shows he’s mentally and physically git to box to the British Boxing Board, all systems are go for what is thought to be an April return to the sport.

He will have been out of the ring an entire two and half years by that point but has been keeping a keen eye on the progress of heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in that time.

Speaking on the Pound For Pound podcast Fury said of a fight with Joshua:

“I’m going to make a bold statement here, if I get the AJ fight, I’m going to make it a four-round fight.”

He added:

“Either he’s going to go or I’m going to go. He can’t underestimate my power and my size and strength. I want to make it a war. I want to make it a Tommy Hearns vs Marvin Hagler remake, but in the heavyweight division.”

A bold claim there considering he has not even had a comeback fight yet.

Leading opponent names so far appear to be Shannon Briggs, Manuel Charr and David Price.

A David Price fight domestically could make a lot of sense in the UK. Particularly with the two having a colorful history in years gone by.
