The two continue to engage in a war of words despite their fight now been well in the past with no sign that they will ever fight again, too.
In a way it’s smart by the pair of them.
They both have the biggest social media followings out of any combat sports stars in the world, so by mentioning each other’s name in the press back and forth they are helping each other out for free from a marketing standpoint.
In my opinion this is clearly a behind the scenes agreement between the two.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they had a similar understanding and business arrangement months before their bout in Vegas to be honest.
They are head and shoulders the most famous fighters in the world today and this week Floyd Mayweather started up a new beef with McGregor – to which the Irishman has continued to respond to tonight by calling him a “rat”:

Where the basis for that is coming from who knows.
McGregor is expected to return to the UFC this year although has also recently been linked with a boxing match against Manny Pacquiao.
Time will tell, but don’t expect to see him back in the boxing ring anytime soon.
