Amir Khan clear up reason why he’s not only been out of the ring so long, but why he hasn’t particularly been very active over the last number of years in general.
It has been an eventful last coupe of years for Amir Khan, both in and out of the ring.
In the ring his last fight came in May of 2016 when he bravely stepped up two weight classes to challenge Canelo Alvarez at middleweight, only to be brutally knocked out in devastating fashion.
There is never any exact way of telling how a fighter will react to a loss like that. We’ll just have to wait until we see how he performs when he comes back in 2018.
But he’s had a number of outside the ring issues to from family to business ventures not panning out. To his credit however, he’s stuck it out and has ended 2017 on a positive note overall.
But in a questions and answers session with fans, despite all of the above, Khan pointed to one simple reason why he hasn’t fought in so long and was not as active as he would have liked to have been over the last few years:

It is not quiet clear when the hand injury was incurred, it could be going back quiet a while before the Canelo fight.
Khan did have corrective surgery on the hand earlier this year however and noted that the surgery was a success at the time.
All in all, it seems to be all is now clear to see Khan comeback and put together a run of fights in 2018.
