Retired boxer Floyd Mayweather receives yet another challenge after his final fight in the ring against Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.
The holiday season might be here but that doesn’t stop fighters calling one another out.
The whole Mayweather fighting in the UFC saga seems to have grown some legs to it over the last week or so.
Plenty of MMA fighters have used the opportunity to get their name in the frame of the publicity.
Perhaps both sports are guilty from time to time of hogging the limelight from one another when these cross over type stories emerge.
The latest to chime in on Mayweather being linked to fighting in the UFC is none other than UFC champion TJ Dillashaw.
Speaking to TMZ on what he thinks of Mayweather getting into MMA, he said:
“I think it’s amazing. I would love to be the one to introduce him to the sport of MMA and show him what real fighting is all about.”
On whether he would fight Mayweather himself, he added:
“Oh, man. Please. Absolutely – challenge accepted and also given.”
It’s hard to see how Floyd Mayweather would have success in an entirely new sport at the age of 40. Given that he has fought in boxing his whole life.
Amateur and pro.
Obviously money talks in some situations but is there really the type of demand for Mayweather in MMA needed?
Also, Mayweather doesn’t seem like he’s in need of a pay check anytime soon. Particularly after earning hundreds of millions for his last fight against McGregor.
