The Billy Joe Saunders trolling of Lemieux since he beat him last weekend has been relentless and now – rather creative.

The two traded words for weeks on end leading up to the bout with Lemieux at one point promising that Saunders would be a dead man after the bout.

These words have not been forgotten about by the champion it seems – as the WBO middleweight title holder continues to taunt Lemieux since defeating him.

Firstly mentioning earlier on Twitter:

However that vulgarity soon turned to creativity, as soon as he learned that today was in fact Lemieux’s birthday:

Never one to miss an opportunity to wish someone a happy birthday, Billy Joe.

Who he fights next remains to be seen.

Options are certainly a plenty after last weekend’s win which genuinely improved his standing once again in the world boxing business.

Canelo and Golovkin will be his main targets for 2018 but will be forced to wait surely until the latter part of the year, as both men continue to try to work out a rematch deal in their own fight. Likely next May.

One more big win by Saunders would give him the perfect momentum going into such a crunch fight in his career.

Interesting times ahead at 160lbs in the new year.
