Could common sense in combat sports be prevailing? Apparently so – as Dana White rules out a boxing match next up for one Conor McGregor.
Since losing his first and only professional boxing match last August to Floyd Mayweather – Conor McGregor has been travelling and clearly enjoying the fruits of his labor judging by media reports and social media posts from the Irishman.
However boxers like Manny Pacquiao have still called him out in recent times. Despite the UFC fighter not having even returned to his own sport of MMA just yet.
Indeed, UFC head honcho Dana White recently told Manny Pacquiao that if he tries to fight McGregor in a boxing match that he will sue to Filipino and his representatives.
As it is understood that McGregor is under contract currently with White and the UFC.
Whyte has gone even further now however, pouring cold water over any McGregor boxing match next up for the Irishman’s immediate fight plans.
In response to one fan on social media, White said:
“He’s not Boxing anyone so calm down cry babies.”
White for his part has indicated that he will be getting involved in boxing promotion in 2018.
So don’t entirely rule out McGregor boxing again in the future at some point – particularly if his current employer will be promoting the sport in the future.
