George Groves mocks DeGale following a big surprise defeat tonight at the hands of a previously unknown American fighter.
Caleb Truax shocked the world tonight to win the IBF super-middleweight world championship on UK soil in an upset points win over previous champion James DeGale.
In a fight where DeGale looked labored and not at his best at all, Truax put the pressure on him throughout and looked hungry right from the first bell.
Some had concerns that it would be hard for the American to get a decision fighting away from the US, but the judges were fair and correctly gave him the decision.
Following the loss old DeGale rival George Groves straight away put the boot in:
Call it a day mate, you ain’t got it no more.
— George Groves (@StGeorgeGroves) December 9, 2017
Indeed, this was a similar school of thought shared by other fighters tonight:
I know some people will disagree wit me here but degale is a shot fighter in my opinion

DeGale now goes back to the drawing board after recently switching promoters before this fight.
DeGale was previously signed with Eddie Hearn but moved to Frank Warren before tonight’s bout.
