Floyd Mayweather questions his old rival’s current substance habits as war of words erupts again against Oscar De La Hoya.
The pair fought to a split decision in the past. A fight in which Floyd Mayweather ran out the winner in.
But things were and still to this day, not exactly friendly between the two. Many times they have taken shots at each other in the media since over the years in fact.
De La Hoya has carved out a successful promotion career for himself since retiring while Mayweather has also done very well in his outside the ring career.
It appears the rivalry is spreading into both men’s post-fight careers now – with both well and truly retired.
There were reports in recent times that Oscar De La Hoya wanted to come out of retirement mind you, and he promised he’d take out Conor McGregor in a boxing match within two rounds if he did.
Speaking while on vacation, Floyd Mayweather has taken a dim view of this:
“Wasn’t Oscar De La Hoya the same one that was talking about me fighting Conor McGregor and he was trying to protest and stop the fight? Now he’s trying to fight Conor McGregor. Is he a hypocrite or is he back on coke again? Man that boy still snorting them lines.”
Mayweather’s last fight came against McGregor back in August and he has insisted he is now retired from the sport of boxing.
