Watch: Deontay Wilder Defends Heavyweight Title With 1st Round KO Of Stiverne

Wilder Defends

Deontay Wilder defends heavyweight title with a brutal 1st round knockout in his rematch with Bermane Stiverne.

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder sent out a message tonight in New York with another huge knockout win to take his record to 39-0-38KO.

In a rematch with the man whom he initially won his title from a couple of years back, he proceeded to drop Stiverne three times in the very first round of their rematch on route to scoring a stoppage.

Stiverne was the only man to take Wilder the distance in his career to date in their first fight a couple of years back but never had a chance to get going in the rematch due to the sheer power and speed of the artillery coming his way.

After the fight Wilder spoke of his joy in venting his frustration with the knockout following a number of pullouts this year in his fights due to doping issues.

Wilder went on to say:

“I just want to prove that I am the best. I know I am the best but I want to prove I am the best.”

A huge one-two combination began the damage for Stiverne who managed to get back to his feet only to taste another big left which sent him crashing to the canvas again.

Here is the moment the show came to an end:
