Tony Bellew Reacts To Wilder

Heavyweight Tony Bellew reacts to Wilder KO over Bermane Stiverne and offers his opinion of his performance.

Not long ago Tony Bellew was linked with a possible showdown against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder but talks of a possible bout have died down in recent times.

Never say never in boxing though.

For the meantime it seems the fight that people want to see either involves Wilder against Anthony Joshua, or Anthony Joshua against Tyson Fury when he comes back in 2018.

Bellew who fights David Haye in a rematch this December gave his appraisal of Wilder’s performance on Twitter by saying:

“That was a serious statement from Wilder last night! Stiverne come in at silly weight but he’s still quality. Wilder needs a defining fight.”

Bellew is currently in preparation for his Haye rematch which will take place on December 17th at the O2 Arena in London on a Sunday, as opposed to the usual Saturday night for big boxing fights.

If Bellew were to win that fight, there is no doubt that he would also be in the mix for some big matches at heavyweight next year if he chooses to continue on in the division.

Here’s what happened the last time Bellew and Deontay Wilder met in person:
