The Anthony Joshua vs Takam final presser before the weigh-in and then get in the ring for the heavyweight title fight.
Pre-fight trash talk was never going to be a theme in the build-up to Saturday’s fight with both Joshua and Takam the type of guys who like to do their talking in the ring.
There was a prevailing feeling of respect in today’s Joshua vs Takam final presser, like there was in Joshua’s last fight against Klitschko, but with a big difference.
Everyone in the sports world knew who Klitschko was. Outside of regular boxing fans not many know who Carlos Takam is.
In many ways that will take a lot of pressure off him, which is a dangerous thing for Joshua if he takes his eye off the ball even for a split second on Saturday night.
Joshua mentioned today that his trainer Rob McCracken has been key in his career, even going back to the amateur days.
At one point Joshua mentioned that he said to him in the amateurs that he wasn’t even sure if pro boxing was for him.
Well, it turned out to be, but he’ll need to be on his game on Saturday night and avoid any slips ahead of what could be a massive 2018:
