People Are Not Happy With Anthony Joshua Replacement Opponent

Anthony Joshua replacement opponent for Kubrat Pulev, Carlos Takam, has come in for a mixed response from fight fans thus far.

Outside of hardcore boxing circles Frenchman Carlos Takam will be a relatively unknown. However for those who’ve followed his career, you’ll know he’s mixed in some decent class thus far.

But none of the likes of an Anthony Joshua to be fair.

Perhaps Alexander Povetkin and Joseph Parker being the two biggest names to date of Takam’s professional boxing tenure.

IBF, IBO and WBA (Super) champion Anthony Joshua will now be adjusting things as we speak as he completes the final hard yards of his training and sparring this week, before commencing the tapering off period about a week out from fight night on October 28th.

Takam must feel like he has won the heavyweight lotto for such a big fight at such late notice, becoming the IBF mandatory challenger literally over night following a shoulder injury forcing Kubrat Pulev to pull out.

Here’s how boxing fans have been reacting to the news thus far:
